Tattoo Idea

For those of you that haven’t seen my leg, this is what it looks like:

That’s Calvin and Hobbes, and the writing on it says “This life is big” and its translations into Spanish and Hebrew. If you want the whole story, read here

Now, it’s true that tattoos have an addictive quality to them, and once you get one you start thinking about your next. As impulsive as I can sometimes be, I haven’t yet jumped the gun on getting another tattoo, mostly because I don’t know exactly what I want.

As I wrote in the linked piece, any tattoo I have will likely have something to do with words. But this time, instead of someone else’s words, I want my own on me. So here’s my request, dear readers. If you’ve ever read any of my stories or pieces of flash fiction or books or blog posts or emails or maybe dropped a little nugget of tattooable wisdom into a conversation, I want your help. Find, in your estimation, the best sentence I’ve ever written. Or paragraph. Or fragment, since I like those so much. Go through my archive and let me know what you think it is. Maybe it’ll get turned into permanent ink.

And if you’re into art or design or anything like that, feel free to design what the words will look like. I imagine it’ll go on the other side of my leg, at the same level, so that it wraps around my calf and shin. Possibly a sunset?
